What is Christianity?

What Is Christianity? Who Is Jesus?

At its heart, Christianity isn’t about rules, rituals, or religion it’s about a person. Everything begins and ends with Jesus.

Who Is Jesus?

Jesus isn’t just a wise teacher or a distant figure in history. He’s the one God promised would set things right a King who brings justice, love, and hope into a broken world. But he’s more than a king; he’s God himself, stepping into our story as a real, flesh and blood human being.

How do we know? Jesus showed us. He healed the sick, calmed raging storms, even brought the dead back to life. Every miracle was a window into the world he’s making a world without pain, fear, or death. The kind of world we all long for.

Why Did Jesus Come?

But here’s the twist: not everyone wanted what Jesus offered. People pushed him away, choosing their own path instead of his. That’s what the Bible calls sin not just breaking rules, but breaking relationship with the God who made us. And that breaks our world too, leaving us separated from the life and joy we were made for.

Yet Jesus didn’t give up on us. In fact, he came knowing he would be rejected even killed. His death on the cross wasn’t a tragic accident, but the ultimate rescue plan. Jesus willingly took on the darkness and punishment our sin deserved. He experienced separation from God so we never have to.

But That’s Not the End

Three days after his death, something happened that changed everything. Jesus’ tomb was empty. He was alive again. Hundreds saw him, touched him, ate with him. Death couldn’t hold him the King had come back to life, and his kingdom had begun.

What Does This Mean for Us?

Right now, Jesus invites everyone no matter who you are or what you’ve done into his new kind of life. He calls us to “repent” (to turn around, to let him lead) and “believe” (to trust that what he did is enough for us). It’s not about trying harder, but trusting him.

Following Jesus isn’t always easy. He was rejected, and sometimes his followers are too. But it’s a life filled with forgiveness, purpose, and unshakable hope knowing God now, and looking forward to a world made new when Jesus returns.

This invitation is for everyone. It’s for you.
